Ursula is currently on tour with Yoshiko Chuma in Yokohama, Fukushima, and Kamakura, Japan collaborating with the Japanese artist collective Root Culture on the creation of a new work named Hold the Clock.

Ursula will perform Hold the Clock as part of the 92nd Street Y’s 75th Anniversary Harkness Dance Festival on March 5-7, 2010.  On the same program, Ursula will premiere her piece Excellent Handicap, a short performative artist lecture on Yoshiko Chuma and The School of Hard Knocks.

In April, Ursula will travel to Skopje, Macedonia and Ljubljana, Slovenia to collaborate with the Macedonian choreographer Iskra Sukarova. The two dance artists met and established a strong artistic connection when they performed together in Yoshiko Chuma’s work A Page Out of Order in 2006.  They are eager to build upon this foundation and to learn more about each other’s background, artistic curiosities, and process.  Their work together is supported by Dance Theater Workshop’s Suitcase Fund, the Macedonian arts organization Lokomotiva, and the Slovenian arts organization Bunker Productions.

Ursula’s column on the seminal choreographer Deborah Hay appears in the current issue of Artforum magazine.  It’s an attempt to articulate the complex experiences of seeing and making performance.

Ursula edited the catalogue for Juliette Mapp’s Back to New York City curatorial platform at Danspace Project.
