Group Dynamics and Visual Sensitivity (2011)

created by Ursula Eagly

in collaboration with Lindsey Dietz Marchant, Jesse Harold,

Abby Harris Holmes, and Jeremy Holmes

As the tile suggests, an experiment in group dynamics and visual sensitivity.  Ursula leads the audience in a visual warm-up involving a series of still tableaus that link together to form a live graphic novel.  When the audience sees movement for the first time, they are visually prepared to take in every detail of an exquisite solo, equal parts task-based and virtuosic. (25 minutes)

The creation of Group Dynamics and Visual Sensitivity was made possible, in part, by the Danspace Project 2010-11 Commissioning Initiative, with support from the Jerome Foundation.  It was developed during the TOPAZ ARTS Choreography Residency Program made possible, in part, by the New York State DanceForce with funding from the NYS Council on the Arts.
